Portrait Photographer

Hey there.

Allow me to introduce myself:

I'm a German born, Kansas raised mother of six kids and one angel, living in north central Idaho amongst the mountains and beautiful clear rivers.

I'm a lover of sunsets, the smell before and after the rain, darky dreary days, music in all forms (except the smashing pumpkins) and watching my comfort shows. I am basically a musical encyclopedia and a total lover of all animals, like I'd try to pet a bear if I could. My family says it would probably let me too. I've been told I'm quite sassy with a quick wit. I just say it's my Midwestern charm, which is present at each and every shoot. I'm also unapologetically loud with a twang, the more I get to shooting the more it comes out along with me cheering everyone on saying how amazing they look or gettin' someone to smile. I'm literally everyone's biggest hype person, no matter the shoot.

My love for photography goes back to when I was a child, it was kind of my way of escaping reality. I was never seen without a camera in high school or college, and I started my business in 2007 but made it official in 2013. Over the years I realized my favorite type of sessions are Senior Portraits. I enjoy letting their personalities shine through, being able to give them a custom session to fit their style and bring it through each and every photo. It's most definitely my niche. A super close second is couples' sessions. I say it all the time, but I love capturing love. Real, genuine, beautiful, unadulterated love. And let me not forget capturing sweet families, giving momma's the photos they long for because so often they too are behind a camera at home. I know how precious life is and those memories are.

I honestly do love every aspect of photography and shoots. I am available for any of these types: Senior portraits, couple shoots, engagements, any sort of portraits, kids, small families, maternity, artistic portraits.

For me, capturing those memories and having them for your lifetime is important. I went through so many ups and downs in my life. One of the hardest things I've ever went through was losing my son. I am forever grateful for the photographer who took time from his day to photograph us. Those photos are all I have of him and looking at them I can feel those emotions, I can remember the smells, the way his skin felt when I touched his sweet little nose or traced his sweet ears. Those memories flood back whenever I look at those photos. I want to give my clients that. I want to give photographs that when they look back, they remember that day. They remember the joy, laughter and happiness they felt during their session, memories that will last a lifetime and beyond. Because no matter what I will find a way to make you laugh and get those stubborn guys to smile, it's always a goal, and although I don't always get a smile, they do admit they had a good time!

Each and every session is as special to me as it is for you, and I can't wait to get a session scheduled!

If you made it this far, thanks for reading and stopping by and I look forward to capturing your memories and creating some magic!

xoxo,

Nicole Hill
